Last Saturday, the new season launch for Sabrina’s Kitchen was held at NU.VO Restaurant located in Greenbelt 2, Makati City. “Ang Telenovela for the Foodie! “The show will be aired in GMA News TV on June 19th from 9:30 to 10:00 am.
The said launch was hosted by no other than Sabrina Artadi, a Filipino cuisine enthusiast and health advocate, not to mention super gorgeous, sociable and very sexy. Together with her brother, a rock music icon, Basti Artadi and Chef Xavier of NU.VO Restaurant.
I was lucky enough to be invited and witness the said launch. I went there with my 10-year-old daughter Zam who is also very interested to learn how to cook and dreams to be a Chef someday.
We were the early birds as I didn’t want to be late. And still have time to check the place.
Sabrina as a health advocate and with the heart for the less fortunate, supports Missionaries for the Poor in Bukidnon. Promoting good health, they have a feeding program called Sabrina’s Sundaycaldo which they have been doing for the past 4 years. She is such an inspiration.
My favorite Sabrina’s advice on LOVE. “Find God First!“
We were served Rosemary Iced Tea made from McCormick Rosemary prior to start of the program. Rosemary works as a mood lifter and a memory enhancer. And is a very refreshing drink!
At the start of the program, we were served with Mojito with Rosemary prepared by famous flairologist couple Larry and Sharlyn which I bet you’ve seen in PGT (Pinoy Got Talent). They replaced mint with Rosemary. It was oh so good!👌
The launch featured a cooking demo by Chef Xavier and Sabrina using #McCormick noodle products and spices which started from cooking McCormick Chap Chae.
The Chap Chae noodles is made from authentic Korean Noodles and at its best quality. The pack already contains the noodles and the flavor so, you just need to add toppings of your choice. The pack has instructions at the back for you to follow. Chef Xavier, topped the noodles with chicken marinated with coffee. Yes, you heard it! COFFEE! Lemme give you the recipe.
Marinate 1/4 Chicken strips in:
2 tbs. honey
4 tbs. soy sauce
1 tbs. lemon
1 tbs. Filippo Berio extra virgin olive oil
quarter cup black coffee
pinch of pepper
- Mix everything and leave for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- You may adjust the taste depending on your preference.
- Fry in olive oil.
We had the chance to try it out. And it was superbly delish! The chicken, oh so yummy! I can’t even describe the taste as I can’t determine how the coffee gave it a different twist.
The noodles have 3 different variances. Chap Chae, Laksa and the Birthday Noodles (which I will be trying out soon).
They were also able to prepare us Tuna w/ spices and Laksa. They also gave us tips on how to prepare the dish. Like in cooking tuna, the meat should still be raw in the middle. Though, I like it well done even if it becomes a little hard or leather like. I’m just not a fan of eating raw. But, it tasted a little sweet since the fish was fresh. Another thing, don’t freeze it as it looses all the great taste. Better is you can buy fresh everyday if you can help it.
What I noticed about their cooking, they always use herbs and spices. Which makes their dishes more tasty and healthy. And I love to use it too in my own cooking.
Spice is Good for your health! – Sabrina
What I love about McCormick, they have a wide array of herbs and spices to choose from. And most importantly, it is very affordable compared to other brands which has the same quality.
We were also taught on how to put a twist on our side salt. We can actually put herbs and spices and mix with the salt. That’s added drama to our meal! Never the same taste again!
After the demo we were serenaded by rock icon Basti Artadi with his guitarist. Music and good food is such an amazing treat!
Anytime Fitness also gave us a fitness demo since eating healthy should be followed by exercise. And Oh My G! I won a month pass to any of their branches!
I won a month pass!
The show ended with a very entertaining performances by Larry and Sharlyn.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Sabrina’s Kitchen for an amazing night. And to the very generous sponsors McCormick, Filippo Berio, Anytime Fitness and Reynolds Wrap for the goodies!
Congratulations to your 6th season and I bet that there will be more seasons to come!

Adding a twist to your side salt is a wonderful idea. It makes a simple condiment look sosy too.

When it comes to herbs and spices, I also buy McCormick brand. I only use rosemary for cooking, I have no idea that you can also use it for drinks.

I wasn’t able to attend this event because my son had swimming lessons on the same day. Sigh! I haven’t tried marinating chicken or any meat for that matter in coffee.
