Coffee and Beyond: Academy of Pastry and Bakery Arts Philippines celebrates their first year

Academy of Pastry and Bakery Arts Philippines celebrated their first year anniversary last August 5, 2016. The celebration was held at the 4th flr. Metrohouse Building, Makati City where the school is located.

The school offers a full 9 months course where students religiously report to school from Mondays-Fridays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

After 9 months, the Academy promises that students are fully equip to work abroad with the skills they need– acquired from top notched international Chefs that they import from abroad.

During the event, we were able to tour around the school and see their fantastic creations. Our first stop was the Bread/Bakery Department. All of the breads were perfectly made by the students. Amazing how in 3-6 months time they are able to execute what they’ve learned.

We were also able to sample some of the breads and it was superb! One of the students said that they gained weight because they eat what they baked. No question on that!

Here are some of the breads.

Academy of Pastry and Bakery Arts Philippines also had their first batch of graduates as students receive their certificates during the event.

After the ceremony and dinner, the much awaited pastry buffet was opened. A wide array of different cakes and pastries that you won’t always see in pastry shops. A long table of mouth-watering sweets waiting to be indulged to your heart’s content. I was in cloud 9 since I have a sweet tooth! From chocolates to cakes–they were such a treat.

Who can resist such temptation. I’m just glad that I don’t have much problems with sweets. The wide variety of pastries and breads were not made specially for the guest that night. All of it were actually regular items that students are able to prepare on a regular basis. So, I was like “okay, this is heaven”. Hahaha!

I was very pleased with the end products. And I can clearly say that it wouldn’t be possible without their teachers. Kudos to the Chefs! Your student’s performance speaks well about how they were taught. Future students will surely be as good as the first batch or maybe even better.

Baking is not as easy as it seems. One wrong portion of ingredient can lead to a total disaster. From the taste to the presentation, everything is made meticulously to perfection.

So, if you wish to be able to create breads and pastries like these. You can be sure that you will learn it from Academy of Bread and Pastry Arts Philippines.
